The laboratory is accredited as a test laboratory according to CSN EN ISO/IEC 17025 by Czech Accreditation Institute.
Main expertise
- Consultations of legislative issues regarding pest control;
- Methodological, advisory, and consulting activities in pest control;
- Collaboration with research and scientific institutes;
- Efficacy studies of the PT 18 products (PT 18) – insecticides and acaricides;
- Efficacy studies of the PT 19 products (PT 19) – repellents and attractants;
- Testing of PT 18 and PT 19 products for purposes of their authorisation according to Biocidal Product Regulation (EU) No. 528/2012 or their notification for introduction to the Czech market according to Act No. 324/2016 Coll;
- Communication with authorities involved in product authorisation and approval processes;
- Preparation of methodologies for efficacy tests and pest control practices;
- Participating in the international inter-laboratory comparison;
- Maintenance of laboratory colonies of insects and arthropods intended for efficacy tests;
- Monitoring of invasive arthropods in the Czech Republic;
- Monitoring of pests with importance for human health (e.g. mosquitoes, ticks, rodents);
- Training and qualification for pest control professionals.
Research
- Monitoring of resistance against active substances used in biocidal products (mainly insecticides);
- Experimental efficacy studies and development of novel alternative repellents;
- Contributing to development of innovative methods for minimizing the spread of pathogens and their vectors;
- Design and implementation of methods suitable for proper pest management;
- Application for scientific grants in the field of public health;
- Publication of the results in the scientific literature;
- Dissemination of the obtained results.
