National Registry of Occupational Diseases
The National Register of Occupational Diseases has been maintained since 1991 at the Centre for Occupational Hygiene and Medicine of the National Institute of Public Health. By Act No. 156/2004 Coll., it was included among the 13 health registers that constitute the National Health Information System (NHIS). After the Czech Republic joined the European Union in 2003, it was linked to the EUROSTAT statistical system on occupational diseases, called EODS (European Occupational Diseases Statistics). Since then, the process of harmonisation of the Czech system with the practice established in the EU has been ongoing, leading to a gradual improvement of the international comparability of Czech statistics on occupational diseases.
