Department activities:

1) Identifying and collecting information on hazards posed by chemical substances and mixtures (including nanomaterials), especially plant protection products and biocidal products, and preparing expert opinions and reports in accordance with the requirements of applicable European and Czech legislation

  1. a) for business entities (link to the price list)
  • proposals for classifications and labels according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, as amended
  • assessments of plant protection products and adjuvants pursuant to Act No 326/2004 Coll., as amended, and pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 Request for a toxicological assessment pursuant to Act No 326/2004 Coll.
  • expert consultations on the management of chemicals and mixtures
  • setting permissible exposure limits and maximum permissible concentrations of chemicals in the working environment for specific workplaces. Learn more

  • evaluation of documents submitted for a biocidal active substance according to Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council
  • evaluation of documents submitted for an active substance for plant protection products under Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009
  • evaluation of documents submitted as part of an application for a marketing authorisation for a biocidal product
  • evaluation of documents submitted as part of an application for a marketing authorisation for a plant protection product
  • setting permissible exposure limits and maximum permissible concentrations of chemicals in the working environment Learn more
  • methodological and consultation activities for public administration bodies (Public Health Authorities and others)

2) Collaborating with public administration authorities in preparing and commenting on legislation concerning chemical safety and management of chemicals and mixtures

3) Representing the Czech Republic in working groups, standing committees and science committees of the European Commission and the Council of the EU in the assessment and management of risks arising from the use of chemicals and mixtures, in particular biocidal products and plant protection products,

4) Running the National Reference Centre for Industrial Chemicals and National Reference Centre for Pesticides

5) Collaborating on the Multiannual Control Programme for Pesticide Residues

6) Organizing educational lectures, courses and seminars in the field of management of chemicals and mixtures for public authorities, business entities and other interested parties

7) Technical standards – internal database of peer-reviewed technical standards

8) Other (e.g. publishing)
